I’m gonna call it like I see it. This may be the best iPhone app ever! For the parent on the go with a troubled teen and an extra $2.99. I think the description may be outdated as it says it is free. “Honey, we need to talk…my iPhone tells me that I need to set better limits for you.”
Description from the author:
If you, or someone you know is experiencing difficulty with a teen, please download this free application and check out the questionnaire. This can serve as a point of reference for you in understanding the severity of the problems your teen is currently facing. Sometimes the problems are so severe that they can only be properly addressed by getting professional help in a controlled environment, such as a residential center, treatment program or specialty school. Other times problems can be resolved right in the home by setting better limits and tightening up the basic family rules and structure.
This book can help you with:
• Setting better limits
• Compliance
• Consistency
• Consequences
I am really getting a kick out of a blog that is new to me…Fail Blog. I have to credit Eric Ranschau’s blog, The Blong Monologues, with turning me onto this site. Here is just a sample of some of the goodness that can be found there. Who in the hell would let their kid in this thing? Better yet, who invented this design?
We have been in the adoption process with China for over 2.5 years. It was supposed to take 18 months. This has been VERY hard on both of us to say the least. The most frustrating part is that there is no “good” explanation from the Chinese government on why they have slowed the number of children they release to families for international adoption. After much research and discussion we have decided to adopt from Korea. What does this mean for our China adoption? Nothing really. Our paperwork will stay there and when China decides they want to speed things up, or simply catch up, we will have to evaluate whether we want to expand our family once again. Read more…
My neighbor Tom was at the Minnesota State Fair last Saturday (as were Jen, Jake and myself) and he got stopped by a Fox News reporter that was basically pointing out what kind of freaks live in Minnesota. Check out the video below. He is the one with the white Maui shirt on and backward baseball cap.
If you have spent any time with me you know that I love Maker's Mark...more specifically Maker's Mark Manhattans. No, I don't have a problem, so save the speeches...I just drink to stop the pain...just kidding. Jen and I went out for sushi/sashimi last night and had to make a quick stop by the liquor store for a replenishment of my beloved Maker's Mark. They had a really cool special edition bottle with not only the signature red wax, but a dip of white and a dip of blue. Genius! The label also is seperated by red and blue with an elephant on one side and a donkey on the other.
I feel it is my duty as a Maker's Mark Ambassador to let my fellow legal drinkers know of this special edition bottle. Enjoy the photo I shot of my Manhattan Kit.
