I’m a bad blogger…

I know, I haven’t written anything lately, and I feel awful about it.  So, let me catch you up…

1.  Winter sucked this year…way too cold, but the nice part is, I learned how to ski and had a BLAST!

2. The adoption from Korea is going well, but not as quick as we would like.  Looks like we will be waiting until late 2009 or early 2010.  Fingers crossed!  I am 4 pounds away from my “Korea weight” which makes 42 pounds gone and never coming back!

3. Work is great…really busy and I love the people I work with!

4. Jake just celebrated his 9th birthday and got a new buddy.  His name is Gil and here he is ( he doesn’t blink…he licks his eyes…how cool is that?)

5. Jake and I are putting in a ton of XBox 360 time doing our part to keep the game companies in business.  If you are on XBox Live, my GamerTag is “Claydough2k”.

6. Jen, Jake and I are heading to Florida soon to visit a ton of relatives. Can’t wait!  I will post photos when we return.

7. I got my haircut today and it was a totally bizarre experience.  All I can say is, this girl had memorized a corporate script to market to me the entire time.  I wanted to shake her.  It was a place called Sports Clips…not my bag.

8. I ordered a treadmill from Amazon.  I don’t know why that excites me, but it just does.

…ok, that’s it for now.  I promise I will post more (don’t believe a word I say).

How Lonely Farmers Meet

I was asking myself the other day, “How do farmers meet?”.  I found my answer today thanks to Great Moments In Commercial History.  I also confirmed my thoughts that all horses sound like Mr. Ed.

Hippy iPhone Commune

I downloaded a new iPhone app called Ocarina.  An Ocarina is an ancient flute-like instrument.  Basically, you blow into the microphone “hole” in the bottom of the phone and press graphical buttons on the screen.  That’s not all!  It is a social application as well.  If I name my Ocarina, my score is uploaded to their servers available for anyone to hear my warbly tones.  You can also spin a virtual planet and listen to other user’s music.

I love this video of a chorus of iPhone hippies performing some “Stairway”.

Best iPhone App EVER

I’m gonna call it like I see it.  This may be the best iPhone app ever!  For the parent on the go with a troubled teen and an extra $2.99.  I think the description may be outdated as it says it is free.  “Honey, we need to talk…my iPhone tells me that I need to set better limits for you.”

Description from the author:

If you, or someone you know is experiencing difficulty with a teen, please download this free application and check out the questionnaire. This can serve as a point of reference for you in understanding the severity of the problems your teen is currently facing. Sometimes the problems are so severe that they can only be properly addressed by getting professional help in a controlled environment, such as a residential center, treatment program or specialty school. Other times problems can be resolved right in the home by setting better limits and tightening up the basic family rules and structure.

This book can help you with:
•    Setting better limits
•    Compliance
•    Consistency
•    Consequences
